Tunnel Escape Fates Entwined throws you into a city that has been completely overrun by a deadly zombie virus. You play as Olivenia, a police officer who gets sent on a mission with her partner Noah to escort a Special Agent to a secret base. Noah stays behind in the computer room and guides her through the mission, while Olivenia has to deal with the zombies and other creatures basically on her own. As she explores the infected city, she starts finding clues about another survivor named Beatrice and a mysterious biological weapon that could be connected to everything going on.
The game mixes rogue-lite exploration with RPG and adventure elements, so there’s a lot more going on than just shooting zombies. Combat combines intense gunplay with turn-based strategy, meaning every shot, grenade, movement, and decision can make a difference. You’ll need to think about what you’re doing instead of wasting all your ammo, especially when things start getting really dangerous. And with Noah supposedly helping from the background, you might start wondering if he’s actually paying attention while Olivenia is fighting for her life.
After each mission, you can make Olivenia stronger by unlocking new skills and improving her abilities. You can also buy new weapons, upgrades, and useful items to help you survive the next stage. The more you progress, the more powerful enemies you’ll face, so upgrading your character and choosing the right skills becomes pretty important if you want to make it through.
There are tons of weird enemies waiting for you, including regular zombies, mutated creatures, infected animals, dangerous living plants, weaponized machines, and other strange abominations. Each stage has its own enemy lineup and ends with a boss fight. Taking down these bosses isn’t just about shooting everything you have at them—you’ll need to figure out their weaknesses, use the right skills, and actually plan your attacks if you want to survive.
Crafting is another big part of the game. Once you unlock it, you can combine different items to create stronger or more useful equipment. You can prepare recovery items and ammunition for a secret weapon when you’re outside of combat, so planning ahead can make a huge difference. If you manage your resources properly, choose your upgrades carefully, and learn how the enemies work, you’ll have a much better chance of surviving the outbreak and finding out what happened to Beatrice.
