Total War: SHOGUN 2 – Complete Edition brings back the legendary strategy game with improved visuals, smoother controls, and all its DLC, including the Rise of the Samurai and Fall of the Samurai campaigns. The updated version features better lighting, shadows, and textures, along with support for 1440p and 4K UI scaling. It also adds Japanese and Chinese voice acting and text localization, over 50 newly playable minor factions, built-in mod support through Mod.io, a 64-bit upgrade, and more improvements.
Your main goal is to conquer Japan, defeat rival clans, and become the ultimate Shogun. You’ll need to master both war and diplomacy by building alliances, managing your resources, developing powerful castles, and using clever strategies to outsmart your enemies. The game covers the entire Shogun era, from the rise of the first Shogun to the fall of the last Samurai, giving you plenty of opportunities to shape Japan’s future.
Battles are a huge part of the experience, and you’ll command massive armies of samurai warriors in intense real-time combat. Plan your attacks carefully, use the terrain to your advantage, launch surprise ambushes, and lay siege to heavily defended fortresses. Every battle can end in a glorious victory or a painful defeat, so you’ll need to think ahead and make smart decisions if you want to dominate the battlefield.
If you enjoy playing online, Avatar Conquest mode lets you create and upgrade your own general as you fight against other players. Win battles to earn XP, unlock better armor, access new unit types, and improve your troops with permanent upgrades. You can also jump into cooperative or competitive campaigns, where you and other players can either work together to conquer Japan or fight for control of the country.
There’s even more fun waiting in Custom Battles, where up to eight players can join hosted lobbies and battle it out in massive multiplayer skirmishes. Whether you prefer planning long-term strategies, leading samurai into battle, building alliances, or competing against real players, Total War: SHOGUN 2 gives you plenty of ways to prove your skills and build your own legacy in feudal Japan.
