So, there’s this hidden gem called “There are things better left unknown” by ImCyan — the same guy who made Tsugunohi — and it just dropped on Steam. It is a creepy paranormal detective game with some seriously cool mystery vibes. You follow these siblings, Yumemi Teru and Yumemi Luna. They’ve got this wild power called “Dream Link” that lets them jump into the dream worlds ghosts create after they die. Their job? Solve supernatural cases happening all over the city, and uncover the dark secrets behind people who “know too much.” It’s all tied to their late mom’s legacy, so it’s pretty deep emotionally too. Unlike Tsugunohi, this one mixes up the gameplay with exploration, mini-games, and other fun stuff — so it’s not just side-scrolling spooky action. The storys full of drama, horror and some dark humor, balancing Scary and emotional moments perfectly. You may also be interested link the game Dragon Sprouts
Teru uses his Dream Link ability to dive into spirit dreams, while Luna’s got this “Curse of the Red Thread” that helps them get back to reality. Oh, and fun twist — Teru’s working as a host in Shinjuku at one point. The whole story digs into some heavy themes like lust and human drama but keeps it interesting with some quirky characters. You explore different spots like Shinjuku Akihabara and even some forbidden areas. The story starts with a high school horror web but gets way darker and more serious as you go. You get about 9 episodes here, each with its own mystery and story, clocking in at over 10 hours of gameplay.
Just a heads up though — the series isn’t finished yet. This pack includes episodes 1 through 9, but not the special “Mermaid” episode or anything beyond episode 9. The creator is working on finishing it though, and future episodes will come out as DLC when ready. If you are into spooky, story-heavy detective games with a twist of the paranormal and some real emotional depth this is definitely worth checking out. Just be ready to dive deep and get hooked.
