You’re not just watching the fight from a distance — you’re right in the middle of it.
Your pilots also gain experience as they survive battles, letting you build up stronger and more experienced squads. You can train elite soldiers and create powerful teams, or just send in cheaper rookie pilots when you don’t want to risk your best troops. You can also customize your empire and modify your Mechs, tanks, VTOLs, and battle armor depending on what each mission requires.
The war takes place across a whole star cluster through a procedural campaign, so things can play out differently from one campaign to another. You’ll have to make both tactical and logistical decisions while fighting for important resources, strategic systems, manufacturing hubs, and political objectives. It’s not just about winning battles — you also need to think about how you’re going to keep your empire running.
The choices you make can have serious consequences later in the campaign. Completing or failing objectives can change future missions and the overall situation across the star cluster. New champions can also rise during the campaign and create their own pirate groups, mercenary companies, or even rival empires that you’ll eventually have to deal with.
Diplomacy is another big part of the game. You can communicate with planetary governments and other factions, trying to balance expanding your empire with keeping the peace.
