BLACKWOOD is a gritty third-person action thriller that mixes fast, smooth combat with a cinematic story. You play as Anton, who seems like a normal guy during the day because he runs a small DVD shop in a realistic version of New York in 2012. But once night comes, things get way darker. Anton becomes a contract killer and gets pulled into the city’s dangerous underground world while trying to survive, deal with his choices, and face a past that keeps coming back. Anton’s story is split into three main Acts, and each one covers an important part of the overall story. New missions will also be added between the major Acts to keep things moving. Act 1 takes place on September 16, 2026, Act 2 comes in March 2027, and Act 3 is planned for September 2027. When you buy BLACKWOOD, you get the full game, and you won’t have to pay extra for the future Acts. Acts 2 and 3 will be released as free updates for everyone who already owns the game. Act One is coming September 16, 2026. The gunplay is fast, stylish, and pretty unforgiving. You can dive, roll, slide, and move around smoothly while fighting enemies, making every shootout feel like something straight out of an action movie. The combat gives you enough freedom to handle situations your own way instead of just standing behind cover and shooting everything. You may also be interested link the game Dune: Awakening
One of the coolest parts of BLACKWOOD is its huge number of contextual takedowns. You can fight enemies up close with brutal hand-to-hand executions or use things around you to take them down. Basically, almost every fight gives you a chance to finish enemies in different ways. The takedowns are meant to feel heavy, grounded, and satisfying once you get good at using them. During the day, your DVD shop is basically your normal life and your cover. You can decorate it, buy and sell DVDs, change your outfits, interact with your apartment, and take part in different RPG-style activities. It makes Anton’s double life feel more real because you’re constantly switching between being a regular store owner and a dangerous hitman. The difference between daytime and nighttime is a big part of the game.
The world is also filled with characters who have their own problems, secrets, and stories. BLACKWOOD takes place in a violent city where even small details can have meaning. Things like advertisements, tattoos, posters, and other parts of the environment help make the world feel alive. As you complete missions, you’ll slowly get pulled deeper into a bigger web of conspiracies, secrets, and consequences. You also get to actually manage your DVD shop instead of it just being a background location. You can restock shelves, organize your inventory, set prices, and work behind the counter yourself to make more money. If you don’t feel like managing everything, you can mostly let the shop run on its own and still make some profit. But if you manage it properly, you can turn the small store into a serious source of income while continuing to live your double life as a contract killer.
