Alright, so ASTROBOTANICA™ is basically survival mode… but you’re an alien scientist stuck on prehistoric Earth. You play as Xel, this super smart alien botanist who was on a mission to collect rare seeds to save his home planet. Then boom — crash landing. Now you’re stranded in ancient Earth surrounded by wild animals, early humans, and an atmosphere that’s literally toxic for you. No pressure. Your big advantage? You’re a plant genius. While everything around you is trying to kill you, you’re out here studying weird prehistoric plants, figuring out how to turn them into food and medicine. You’ve got to experiment, research, and adapt constantly. And since you can’t even breathe properly without enough carbon dioxide, growing and maintaining the right plants isn’t optional — it’s survival. You’ll also run into Neanderthals. They’re not instantly hostile, just cautious and curious. If you learn how to communicate with them and help cure their injuries using plant-based tonics, they might actually trust you. And once they trust you, they’ll trade tools, supplies, and maybe even help you out. So yeah, diplomacy matters. You may also be interested link the game Nested Lands
On top of that, you have to build and protect your base. Walls, fences, proper floors — everything. Wild animals and natural disasters don’t care that you’re an alien scientist. You gather resources, upgrade your shelter, and slowly turn it from some weak crash-site shack into a proper base. The world itself is this massive prehistoric wilderness packed with extinct animals and plants to study. It looks peaceful, but it’s not. Some of the animals are adorable… and also very hungry. So you’ve always got to stay alert while exploring.
You also shape your own progression through six different skill paths: Planetary Knowledge, Research, Investigation, Management, Adaptation, and Learning. The way you spend your Knowledge Points actually changes how you play, so you can focus more on science, survival, or resource control depending on your style. At the end of the day, it’s all about experimenting with plants, securing a stable CO₂ supply so you can breathe, exploring ancient ecosystems, teaming up with Neanderthals, and leveling up through the P.R.I.M.A.L. system to survive long enough to finish your mission. Alien scientist on hardcore prehistoric survival mode — that’s the vibe.
