Alright, so this one is a dark yuri visual novel that dives deep into heavy stuff like depression, grief and magic but also manages to hit you with that unexpected kind of love that creeps in when you’re at your lowest. You play as Honoka Asakawa, a quiet university student living her life up in snowy Hokkaido. Things take a seriously dark turn after a personal tragedy shakes her world, and out of that pain, she ends up getting involved in something wild—blood magic. Yeah, the kind of lost, forbidden magic that shouldn’t even exist anymore.
Somehow, Honoka’s magic lets her slip into an alternate world locked away in time—Meiji-era Sapporo. There she meets Lady Yasue, this super bright and lively mage who’s been stuck in that world for like a hundred years. Yasue takes Honoka under her wing, and even though their worlds are completely different, a real bond starts to form between them. As Honoka learns more about this hidden world and gets closer to Yasue, the consequences of her choices start to spiral out of control—things get intense, and what started as a quiet escape from grief could end in total disaster.
The visual novel packs in around 70,000 words of original story, all written by Suriko, with beautiful character art by Kobuta and a custom soundtrack from Claire DeLuca. It’s fully voice acted in Japanese, and you can read it in English, Japanese, or Simplified Chinese. If you’re into emotional stories, forbidden magic, and complicated love wrapped in a snowy, mystical atmosphere—this one’s definitely worth checking out.
