Alright, so you’re the new guy at this massive “pest control” company called Invader-Be-Gone, Inc.—except it’s not your usual pest job. This game’s called Bashtronaut, and you’re stepping into the boots of ED-870, a Junior Eradicator who’s got one big dream: actually getting promoted. Sounds easy, right? Yeah… not really. Apparently, no one’s made it past the entry level in over a decade, mostly because everyone either dies on the job or just rage quits. So, no pressure.

The company’s all about that “green” image now, thanks to their initiative called “Oh no, Ozone!” which straight-up bans anything cool like rayguns or blasters. Instead, you’re out there swinging around old-school, low-tech, blunt weapons like it’s medieval times. Why? Because lasers apparently hurt the environment and this company really wants to look eco-friendly while you get Sumakkad around by alien freaks.

Stat-wise, your division—the Eradicators—has a super encouraging 95% death rate. But hey, it’s better than the Proofers Division with a 98% death rate, so technically you’re doing great. That just means there is a lot of “opportunity” to stand out—especially if you can survive the insane waves of aliens you are understood to deal with. You’ll be handling all kinds of random, dangerous client contracts, and if you somehow don’t die, you’ll earn some sweet company credits. Thankfully, you have got some help. A total legend in the company, Senior Eradicator ED-575, is mentoring you. Dude’s a pro, and listening to his advice might be the only reason you don’t end up as another statistic on the company’s wall of forgotten interns.

After each mission, management gives you a “Performance Appraisal,” which is basically corporate-speak for “we’re watching you, don’t mess up.” But hey, they care. They even send you inspirational messages whenever you down a company-approved energy drink in the field. So yeah, good luck out there—you’re gonna need it.
