OVERVIEW OF THE SPEWNICORN
Your mission is to brave the Dark Forest and take down a Guardian at either the Ice Gate or the Fire Gate to unlock your path to the FROST Forest or the FLAME Forest.
On your journey, you’ll face enemies that boost your Sparkle, Shimmer, or Aura essence—each of these essences lets you tap into different Stances, which come with their own powerful effects.
Keep an eye out for Magic Fountains and Quest that will help you out along the way. But before you can unlock the Gates, you’ll need to prove your strength by taking on at least two Arenas packed with tough enemies.
Winning battles earns you Courage Coins, which you can spend at the market. There, you can buy consumable candies, permanent treasures, random cards from the four card types, or even upgrade your special Weapon cards if you have them. In combat, your Speed determines how many cards you can draw each turn, and Mana is what you’ll use to play those cards. Some cards can be combined for free, without costing any Mana. Your Crit percentage increases by 1 for each attack card you play, giving you a higher chance of landing a critical hit (which does 1.5x damage). But watch out—Crit percentage resets to 0 after you land a crit.
As you fight, your Aggro level goes up, which means monsters in the FROST Forest will block more, and those in the FLAME Forest will hit harder. It also makes Arena and Guardian fights even more intense. The higher your Aggro level, the faster it increases.
You can also stack Block and Armor to soak up incoming damage—Block stops it all, while Armor absorbs 50%. Combine them and you will be tough to take down.
Playing cards lets you charge up your Magic Rainbow, which unleashes damage when it’s fully charged. The kind of magic you use determines the type of damage: Rainbow magic hits all monsters, Elemental magic ignores Block, Dark magic ignores Armor, Chaos magic does triple damage to a random monster, and Muddled magic hits one random monster.
After each fight, you might get some Treasures, Essences, Shards, or Candy as rewards. Your chances of getting these rewards increase with each battle, and you can keep track of your odds at the bottom of the screen.
There are five difficulty levels, each one making the game a lot harder. Think you can take on The Singularity on Nightmare difficulty? That is a serious challenge—good luck, and have fun!
