OVERVIEW OF INK INSIDE
From some of the minds behind Steven Universe: Unleash the Light comes Ink Inside—a hand-drawn adventure that’s got the vibe of a Saturday morning cartoon but with a way deeper story and way more action!
You play as Stick, an unfinished doodle who’s trapped in a box of notebooks under a slowly leaking ceiling. As the water seeps in, it warps everything around it, turning once-friendly doodles into mindless, soggy monsters. Your mission? To uncover lost memories, save your friends, and battle against the waves of wetness that are slowly corrupting the world.
Along the way, you’ll dive into Stick’s “Genetic Memory” (or Gene Meme), which is the shared memory all doodles have with their creator, Hannah. Explore the worlds between the sketchbooks, unlock hidden memories, and meet a wild cast of fully voiced and animated characters. The game features voices from Brian David Gilbert (YouTube & Dropout) and Deneen Melody (Evangelion, Netflix’s Romantic Killer), giving the characters even more life.
You’ll meet some seriously colorful teammates to help you on your journey. There’s Detective Fuzz, who’s always got your back, and Traff, the Princess of Cursing—she hits like a truck and talks like one too. Each character has their own story that helps piece together your own history, and you’ll even get some live-action cut scenes that dive into the deep lore of how they were created.
The combat is a mix of dodgeball and beat-em-up action, where you’ll dodge incoming projectiles, chain combos, and work hard to avoid becoming mushy. As you go, you’ll unlock new gear and abilities, plus fill up your COOL MOVES bar to BREAK THE RULES and smash through invisible walls to deal some insane damage.
Throughout your adventure, you’ll take on quests that reveal hidden lore and explore beautifully illustrated worlds, like Fuzzball Forest and the Sugar Swamp. You’ll also hit up shops to upgrade your gear, level up, and experiment with new mechanics to help you save the princess in this epic, quirky adventure.
