OVERVIEW OF FROM THE DEPTHS – GONE TO SEA CHARACTERS
Alright, here’s the second character content pack for From the Depths. This one’s packed with four new characters: a Sea Captain, a Diver, and two Sailors (1 and 2). Yeah, they’re from the Unity Asset Store, but we’ve heavily modified them to fit into the FTD framework.
Why go for middleware? Well, none of us at BrilliantSkies are character modeling experts, but the people who make these models are. No point in redoing something that’s already done well, right? We just want you to have cool new models for your ships and the option to change your avatar if you want to.
Here’s the kicker: Once you’ve got just ONE of the character packs, you can start importing your own models. We’ll have docs for that soon, so you’ll be able to get your custom characters in there. And we’re not stopping here—more stuff will be added to this pack in the next few weeks. You may also be interested link the game Banebush
If these characters aren’t really your thing, don’t worry. We will be adding different type’s in future packs, so stay tuned. You can change your avatar from the default Rambot to any other model you’ve unlocked or added—just pop into the customisation “Z” UI under the avatar tab, and this works in multiplayer too.
You can also place a special ‘animation block’ and pick from any models you’ve got, then set up animations for them. If you want more control over how your characters move, you can mess with animation blocks using breadboard functions to switch up movements or presets.
When you buy a character DLC, you’ll get even more animations to play with in those blocks, plus new voices you can use in breadboards to make your creations feel more alive. Just a heads up though: these models don’t have the same face customization options as the anime ones.
This pack is all about Bring more life to your ship’s and adding some personality to your gameplay. Whether you are roleplaying, making memes, or just filling your ship with cool characters, these models are perfect for the job. They run, walk, swim, and do their thing just like Rambot, though weapons aren’t perfectly sized or held right. It is a big gameplay change, especially when you are customizing your experience.
We’re planning to keep developing this, adding animations you want (check out Mixamo and let us know), and there’ll be a channel in the official Discord for you to suggest stuff. So, yeah, the fun’s just starting!

- Next up, double-tap inside the From the Depths – Gone to Sea characters folder and fire up that exe application.
- Time to rock and roll! Remember to launch the game as admin, and if you hit any snags with missing dll files, scout for a Redist or _CommonRedist folder and install all the goodies inside. Let the gaming begin!
