Hey, check out Dystobel a sick metroidvania and platformer game where you switch between powers like fire, ice, and electricity while dodging and nullifying enemy attacks. You will be exploring this captive kingdom under the rule of Lord Solomon discovering all kinds of items to boost your attack, defense, and life.

Switching powers isn’t just for show; you’ll use them to cancel out even the boss attacks that try to stop your adventure! Hi, I’m Kenneth, the solo dev behind Dystobel. I have poured a lot hours and a ton of learning into this project and I have put my heart and soul into it. This is only my second game but I am giving it everything I have got to deliver the best experience possible.

Using fire, ice, and electricity lets you nullify enemy projectiles, but some enemies are immune to certain attacks. The key is to switch to the element that lets you do the most loss while blocking their attacks. On your journey, you’ll find life bottles to increase your max health, and items you can equip from the main menu to tweak your attack and defense. You can choose to be a glass cannon, dealing massive damage but taking a lot of hits, or a tank, barely taking damage but making fights last longer. Or maybe you’ll go for a balanced mix of strength and defense. Equipping different items lets you adjust the game is difficulty to match your playstyle.

I’ve handmade all the graphics, sprites for the main character, enemies, bosses, backgrounds, and effects. I’m not a professional animator or artist, but I’ve worked hard to make the animations smooth and enjoyable (or maybe even a bit disturbing, heh heh heh).
