It actually tries to capture the real struggle, technique, and feeling of being up there.
The mechanics are seriously realistic. It’s fully physics-based, so your grip strength, balance, body position, and even the direction of the holds all matter. You can’t just spam buttons and magically stick to a wall. You have to approach every route like you would in real life. And yeah, dynos are in too. When you finally reach the top after a tough climb, it actually feels earned.
You’ll be exploring everything from short boulders in Fontainebleau to long 30-minute climbs at Freÿr in Belgium, plus old ruins and crazy structures. Some routes are places you might never visit in real life — or aren’t even allowed to climb. You can even try free solo climbing… but safely, from your computer. No broken bones required. One of the coolest parts is the workshop support. You can create your own routes and even build fully custom locations using their Unity-based tool. Use pre-made holds, import 3D models, or design new pitches on existing crags. The creative freedom is actually huge.
There are optional leaderboards too, so if you’re competitive, you can race your friends or other players for the fastest times. Or you can just chill and climb at your own pace.
It’s also perfect if you can’t climb in real life — maybe you’re injured, the weather sucks, or you’re just trying to get over your fear of heights. New Heights lets you experience that climbing rush anytime.
