The situation’s still happening, and FISA is taking over the investigation, so we don’t have all the details yet.
This whole hostage thing went down right after someone tried to take out Governor Whitfield. Yeah, the same governor who got targeted during a political event last month. The LSPD’s been working overtime with Highway Patrol, Protective Services, and Federal officials to keep him safe.
The LSPD’s maritime squad, teamed up with the Los Sueños C.O.A.S.T. (California Offshore Air and Sea Team), got there fast to deal with the hostage crisis. As for what’s going on in the water—there’s a luxury yacht called Mirage at Sea, but don’t be fooled by the party vibe. It is hiding a bloody international crime ring. Then there’s Leviathan, another Foreigner oil rig overrun by eco-terrorists who started executing workers. And if that’s not enough, an abandoned island resort turned into a shady spot for some secret deal by a criminal group known as the “3 Letter Triad.”
To handle all these serious threats, SWAT’s been stacking up some serious firepower—guns like the MK17, GA51, M14S-16, MP5SD6, and G3 rifles are now part of the standard SWAT gear. They also got new maritime gear, straight-up military surplus from Naval Special Ops, including the Eli-Tec Helmet, Phoenix Flight Suit, and all sorts of other high-tech tactical stuff. Plus, the ATLAS Association’s sending over even more elite gear, including a sweet Sallet T5X Helmet, OxFort Pilot Hard Knuckles, and Salmon 4D GTX Boots.
Just a heads up: you’ll need the base game to play the Dark Waters DLC.
