The Oathsworn culture is all about living by an ethical code, and it gives you 3 subcultures to pick from, each with its own vibe. If you’re into peace and building a chill empire, go with the Oath of Harmony. Want to play the hero and destroyed evil? Then Oath of Righteousness is your code. In the new tomes, you can unlock all kinds of power-ups for your army. The Tome of Discipline lets you boost your monks and empower your units to cleanse and attack harder. With the Tome of Shades, you can become the Final shadow assassin, to take out enemies with stealth and precision. The Tome of Calamity is all about wreaking havoc—bring chaos to the world and burn your enemies with Ghostfire. And the Tome of Prosperity is a game changer, to bring healing grace to your empire and to open powerful support units.
There is also a whole new level of storytelling with multi-stage events, adding drama like assassinations, coups, and betrayals right into your skirmish maps. You get to decide how to handle these twists whether you are trying to stop them or use them to your advantage.
And don’t forget about the creature’s! You get two new lines of ancient creatures—Creatures of Prosperity focused on good and harmony, and Creatures of Calamity embracing evil and strife. Some of these bad boys include the Graceful Judge, the Blessed Dragon, and the White Warg.
The expansion also introduces a fresh new look for your interface, killer music tracks by Michiel van den Bos and new content like a realm template, pre-made rulers, and a stunning World Map that will totally change how you play.
